Text messaging

Leticia Duvivier, Ph.D. · Licensed Psychologist

So that you can choose (or decline) text-message appointment reminders, I have registered my practice number for text messaging, and the carriers require that the following be published.

I do not send or exchange clinical information by text, nor do I send marketing or promotional texts. If you opt in by giving me your mobile number and agreeing to be texted — in conversation, on the intake paperwork, or by texting this line first — I may send you brief messages about scheduling, appointment reminders, and administrative matters. For your privacy, clinical topics belong in session or in secure messaging. If you text me something clinical, I’ll ask to move the conversation to a secure channel rather than answer it by text.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts; you will receive a confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. Reply HELP for information about how to use this messaging service.

Text messages are not monitored for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. For a medical emergency, call 911.

You may also decline or withdraw by telephone or in writing. Agreeing to text messages is never a condition of care, and declining changes nothing about the work.

Your mobile number and your consent to be texted are used only to provide the messaging described above. They are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Information is shared only with the services that carry the messages, under agreements requiring them to protect it, and as otherwise permitted or required by law. My messaging service provider is Spruce Health, whose SMS Terms of Service and SMS Privacy Policy are incorporated here and available on request.
